Remote Alaska fly fishing lodge guided fishing for salmon and rainbow trout in Alaska.
Remote Alaska fly fishing lodge
We are a remote Alaska fly fishing lodge offering fly fishing and spin fishing in remote alaska for salmon and rainbow trout.
At Alaska's Lake Marie Lodge we fly fish and spin fish, and concentrate our efforts on Rainbow Trout, King Salmon (Chinook), and Silver Salmon (Coho). We are one of the few lodges in Alaska that specialize in "sight fishing" for Alaska King Salmon and in addition we specialize in "surface fishing with floating flies (dries)" for Silver Salmon. We are also the only lodge in the world to catch "King Salmon (Chinook) on the surface" using dry flies (floating flies). There is no fishing experience more awesome than looking into the clear water and seeing a 30-40 lb. king salmon follow and then violently strike your dry fly.
"Extreme Remote" Location
The setting of the lodge can best be described as "extreme remote."
Although we are only 45 minutes flying from Anchorage, we are in a very isolated area due to our local landscape. The rivers, streams, and creeks that we fish are too small for float planes to land in. This keeps out the mass of float planes that you see at some of the well known streams in the Bristol Bay and Iliamna areas. In our area, there is no need to get up early, rush breakfast, and race other lodges to get a good spot on the river. Most of the time, we are the only ones fishing the streams, so we don't rush. We do consider ourselves very lucky to be in an area that has so little floatplane access. (We have a private airfield at the lodge that we use to bring Guests to the lodge)
Lake Marie Lodge offers remote and secluded Salmon and Rainbow Trout fishing at its best. We fish many different rivers, creeks, and streams and catch all 5 species of Pacific Salmon. We also catch Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike, and Dolly Varden/Arctic Char. One of the primary reasons why we have such outstanding fishing is because of our unique location. We are located near the confluence of many creeks and rivers.

Remote Alaska Fishing
Lake Marie Lodge Alaska offers remote and private Alaska fishing in an area with many different rivers, streams, and creeks. We fish smaller rivers and streams, which are usually shallow enough to wade, and have clear water.
Unlike other areas of Alaska, we do not fish large rivers using big water fishing techniques such as trolling, backtrolling, or drift fishing. We feel that being confined to a boat for hours backtrolling is not the Alaska experience that our Guests are looking for, so if you would like to fish smaller waters that run clear, where you spend the majority of your time sight fishing, then give us a call. We are a medium sized lodge that, over the course of the summer, average about 14 Guests at a time and this ensures that we are able to provide personal and individual attention to each Guest. We work daily with each of our Guests to determine where and which species they would like to fish for the following day. This personal attention assures the Guest of a customized fishing experience.
Along with chrome bright king salmon (chinook), gigantic silver salmon (coho), and large leopard rainbow trout, we also catch large numbers of Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden/Arctic Char, Sockeye Salmon, Chum Salmon, and Pink Salmon.
Helicopter Fly Out Fishing
We use Helicopters to access some of the very best and remote fishing in the world. We can fly into almost every stretch of stream, creek, or river in our area. We will drop you down on the gravel, just a few feet from hundreds of fish that have never seen a fly or lure. It is truly unbelievable, the fishing that can be accessed through the use of a helicopter. We are very fortunate that we are legally allowed to use a helicopter in our area, because it is a violation of various state and federal regulations in other parts of Alaska, especially the Bristol Bay and Iliamna regions. We do feel very lucky that we are allowed to access these extremely remote areas with ease through the use of helicopters.
