Southern California Lake and Fishery Information

Casitas:

This is a beautiful lake that is surrounded by rolling hills; a mountainous background where the oak trees meet the water's edge. The wildlife is abundant and it is very common to see deer strolling the shoreline. This fishery has several species of game fish, but the one I concentrate on are the Florida strain large mouth bass.Because our lake is so deep and stocked with rainbow trout, the largemouth grow to world record size. At any moment, on any cast, the world record fish could bite and financially change your life.

Cachuma:

This lake has almost all of the same characteristics of Casitas as far as scenery and wildlife. The main difference is that it contains Northern strain largemouth and smallmouth bass. These two species tend to be more aggressive. Though they may not get as big as their cousin from Florida, you will find that after setting the hook on one, they pack one heck of a punch.

Castaic:

Resembling a desert lake, lying at the foot of Mt. Pinos, resides this well known reservoir. Though the scenery is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the first two lakes, what it lacks in foliage, it makes up for in year round bass fishing. Here, the Florida strain large mouth share the deep water characteristics and forage that grow big fish like their relatives at Casitas. The other species of bass that dwell here are the striped bass, and let me tell you, they grow them BIG here. It is not uncommon to see a boil that is the equivalent of a tuna smacking bait on the surface.
